Authentic abundance is your natural birthright. Making money authentically, joyfully, and meaningfully is your due.
Your Authenticity
You came here especially equipped to do something deeply meaningful to you. Doing that thing is being authentic.
Inspired enjoyment of a business, vocation, or profession that feels right and natural – now, that’s fulfillment. Answering the call of right livelihood or right business, in the way that only you can, is being genuine.
When you stand tall for what you believe, and your actions and words are congruent, that’s being authentic.
When you are being fully who you are, being genuine, original, and sincere, that’s being authentic. As such, you are the real deal – you don’t fake or pretend, in livelihood or the rest of life.
Your Birthright
A birthright is your claim or heritage. You came here with a pre-existing intention to discover and claim a glorious, prosperous, and uplifting livelihood.
Your profession is not what brings home your paycheck. Your profession is what you were put on earth to do with such passion and such intensity that it becomes spiritual in calling. Virgil
So, my friend, what’s calling you? What genuine and original path is pointing to your fulfillment and prosperity?
Your Abundance
How can you most effectively get your abundance flowing?
Abundance or prosperity comes in many forms, but, for the purposes of this article, when I say abundance – I’m talking about money. Making money in a way that makes your heart sing is authentic abundance.
Money is attracted to two things: enthusiasm and confidence. So you tell me, what kind of work are you likely to be most enthusiastic and confident doing?
Work is about a search for daily meaning as well as daily bread, for recognition as well as cash, for astonishment rather than torpor; in short, for a sort of life rather than a Monday through Friday sort of dying. Studs Terkel
That’s right, Studs! The engagement of deeply meaningful work is the only vocation that always brings forth confidence and enthusiasm.
When your work has meaning, you are fired up for it and by it. Eagerness and willingness to follow through are not in question when you are fired up.
Making money authentically comes more readily while being real and taking meaningful, sincere action. Yes, my friend, authentic abundance is your birthright. Now, are you going to claim it?

Tom,
That’s a great line from Studs Terkel, “Work is about a search for daily meaning as well as daily bread, for recognition as well as cash”. A brilliant connection of getting paid for who you are in what you do. I’ve enjoyed the daily meaning component for years but only periodically the cash. I want more of that!
John,
I agree, Authentic Abundance is all about bringing in cash with meaning and fulfillment. I don’t thing the business side of life gets better than that! It’s important that we declare our intention to make money and meaning.

Inspiring post, Tom. Thanks so much. Yes, when our work has meaning, our passion is flowing. Links beautifully with the time-honored adage: ‘follow your bliss (and abundance will follow)’. Here’s to oceans of abundance meshed with gushing enthusiasm!
Lil,
I’ll drink to that. You are right – there is a direct connection between passion and meaning. It’s a mighty fine place to be. Gushing is a great word when describing abundance and enthusiasm!
Yes, Tom, I am claiming authentic abundance as my birthright. It is so easy to get caught up in scarcity thinking which is a place neither enthusiasm nor confidence can exist. Thank you for your invigorating article and your challenge!
Your passion for authentic abundance is woven into every sentence. I will reread this many times.
Brenda, I’m glad that you have made that claim. The first step is always making a sacred declaration to set your mind around this realization. The good news is that our minds cannot entertain two competing thoughts simultaneously. So the fear has to run when you are declaring this birthright!
Tom, I have been pondering the concept that I was born with the birthright of authentic abundance. I can honestly say that this is not a birthright that I consciously knew I had. I have held receiving abundance as something earned by developing the right mind set, positive attitudes, the right vibrational level etc. If done right, abundance will come to me as long as there is no attachment.
Shifting to the perspective that authentic abundance is a birthright, means that I don’t need to become a person who deserves abundance. I am that person as I am a citizen. It’s a fact. There is no attachment in this perspective because it just is. I guess you say that I’m at the discovering stage and looking at what there is to claim.
Jackie, that’s correct. Upon arrival on this earth we are a part of the abundance. You could say the abundance is us. We only stray when we think things like “I don’t deserve it” because then we are putting conditions on allowing it to come. Thinking of it as a birthright, also helps me to be my natural core self so that the allowance is also authentic without and conditions.

Tom this post makes me think of the definition of “prosper” — which is “to thrive”. What does is mean to thrive? Perhaps that is subjective in many ways, but I think it certainly means to be healthy in body, mind, and spirit, with a good flow of energy in and out; we are able to give and receive in equal measure.
This also conveys a spirit of generosity — freely given, freely received — without restrictions.
When one thrives, one is not limited by lack of any sort. There is plenty — and a sense of spaciousness. No rush. No hurry. Nothing pushing or pulling, even within. It is a place of easy.
This is where the heart feels at home. One can relax, take off the shoes, and rest — or play, or experience the many sources of pleasure and appreciation that life has to offer.
Authentic Abundance is like the home for a weary heart that has roamed too long in empty fields promising all but yielding nothing; here is where there is room to thrive, and grow. How gracious it is to experience true authentic abundance, where goodness in all measure can thrive.

Tom I like your last question: “Now, are you going to claim it?”
It reminds me that the knowing that abundance is our birthright and the claiming of it are different steps.
Once we wrap our brain around the concept, then the next step is to claim it. We need to claim the knowing. Setting intentions positions the outcome in our lives. A great affirmation for me would be : Abundance is my birthright. I claim this great truth for my life now.
Authentic Abundance has helped me feel more confident in my relationship with money making.
Thanks, Tom, for this great thought provoking, action invoking blog.
Nancy, I to have found a very comfortable home here in Authentic Abundance and natural thriving is a big part of that. I like what you say about living in the an absence of limitations. It reminds me of removing a plank that’s laid on the grass for a week or more. When we first lift it off the grass is all bent down and discolored form a lack of light and space. Yet once the plank is removed a week’s worth of damage is magically reversed in a few days. In Abundo we all are lifting the planks from our brothers and sisters.
Deb, thank you and I’m happy that you’ve made that distinction and powerful declaration. Now the real claiming can be done by taking inspired right action. Do it now, without delay!
