Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring. - Oscar Wilde

I like hugs, handshakes and smiles. In fact, I collect them.
Family, friends and sometimes total strangers stop by to review my collection.
Many visitors will ask me how I came to have such a large inventory of these priceless gems.
I tell them that my ability to spot these treasures in their natural environment and acquire them for my collection has always been easy for me. Apparently it was a gift given to me at birth.
Word of this collection has spread like wildfire. It’s gone viral. Sotheby’s will probably be contacting me for the exclusive rights to auction the entire contents.
Perhaps Warren Buffett and Bill Gates will request a private viewing.
I know, I know. You’re probably saying, “Has this guy totally lost it?”
And you already know my secret.
Amassing a fortune in hugs, handshakes and smiles is the easiest thing to do.
The more of them to get, the more of them to give!
The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.
Be aware of the opportunities you have to smile, shake a hand or give a hug.
And, you will add significantly to your own collection of these precious gems.
How will you share your gifts of authenticity and abundance?
Let me know what you think in the comments.

John,
This is a wonderful sentiment and exactly what I needed to read today!
There is nothing like the warmth of giving AND receiving human touch – and a smile is like a hug for the heart! Connection at its best!
I think the simplicity of these offerings make them even more valuable!
Hats off to your gargantuan collection. I’m looking forward to increasing mine as well!
Deb,
I like your sentiments. “A smile is like a hug from the heart.”
Reminds me of the word ‘Namaste’ which translates many ways. One
definition is “The Divine in me recognizes and honors, the Divine in you.”
Hugs, handshakes and smiles are simply gestures that recognize, embrace,
respects and honors another person.
I see in you that which I value in myself.
Go forth and increase your collection!
Namaste,
John
I once did some research with a Tibetan speaker and he told me that you would only use namaste the first time that you saw a person in a given day. That is, it’s a greeting, but not a follow up greeting, like if you saw the same person after lunch, it would be weird to say namaste, since you already said that this morning!
Paul,
I’m cool with that. If I say goodmorning to someone this a.m., I
wouldn’t repeat it in the afternoon. However, if I smile at you this
a.m., I certainly could repeat that again this afternoon.
The feelings and intentions contained in Namaste could be
an on-going perspective on others, even when unspoken.
How does that ring for you?
John
I’m with you big time on this one John. So easy to give…..and to receive. Thankyou.
be good to yourself
David
David,
And I with you. Bigtime as well.
I appreciate your closing line in each of your comments as well as your posts,
“Be good to yourself”. In the context of my post that would mean self-awareness
and self-appreciation. A figurative hug and handshake to yourself enhanced
by a literal smile.
Just look in the mirror and remind yourself that you are welcome here and very
much appreciated.
Thanks for stopping by.
John
